January Product Release: Grow Your Investor Community & Amplify Your Raise
DealMaker's 2026 product roadmap is packed full of new capabilities that will make big impacts on your next fundraise. We're moving fast and, in January, our product team has already shipped new features focused on key outcomes that matter to our fundraisers:
1. Grow Your Investor Community: Turn one-time investors into lifelong champions who reinvest, refer others, and actively support your company
2. Amplify Your Raise: Attract more investors, increase conversion rates, and reduce friction in the investment process
These updates are built to deliver outcomes like pulling in more capital, building authentic marketing content, identifying valuable supporters within your shareholder base, and fostering loyalty for future rounds.
Let's walk through what is new.
Grow Your Investor Community:
Unlock the Full Value of Your Shareholders
Building a community is not just about the current raise. It is about creating advocates for the long term. This feature helps you transform the moment of investment into a powerful opportunity for connection, marketing, and mutual support.
Investor Feedback
TLDR: Now DealMaker automatically inquires why your investors invested and how they can help your company succeed, turning every investment into an opportunity for marketing testimonials, community engagement, and business growth.
How It Works: The Investor Experience
When an investor completes their investment and reaches the confirmation page, they see two optional feedback prompts:
- Prompt 1: Why Did You Invest?
(Open Text Field) This field invites the investor to share why they chose to invest. The open-ended nature allows for authentic, unscripted responses that capture genuine investor sentiment. You might see statements about believing in the product, team, mission, or market opportunity.
- Prompt 2: How Can You Help?
(Dropdown Selection) This dropdown provides structured options for how the investor is willing to support your company beyond their financial investment. Options include: I can connect you to customers, I can introduce you to investors, I can share about the raise, and I can leave a review for the company.
Both fields are optional. Investors can complete one, both, or neither. Only investors who respond to at least one question will appear in your testimonials view, ensuring that every entry contains actionable information.
How It Works: Your Experience as an Issuer
Access investor feedback through a new section in your DealMaker dashboard. Navigate to the Contacts page and look for the new Testimonials section. Within this section, you can view a consolidated list of all investor responses. Each entry shows the investor's name and their submitted feedback, including both their text response (if provided) and their selected help options (if provided).
Four Ways Investor Feedback Empowers Your Raise
- Marketing Fuel: Authentic investor testimonials are among the most powerful marketing assets a company can have. Unlike manufactured testimonials, these are genuine expressions from people who have put their own money behind their words. Use these testimonials in your marketing materials, on your website, in social media, and in future fundraising campaigns.
- Community Intelligence: Understanding why investors chose to invest provides invaluable market intelligence. This feedback helps you understand what resonates with your audience, whether it is the product, the team, the market opportunity, or your company's mission. These insights can inform marketing messaging, product development, and overall business strategy.
- Hidden Resource Discovery: Your investor base is more than a source of capital. It is a network of potential advocates, connectors, and supporters. The "How Can You Help?" dropdown helps you identify investors who can provide tangible business value beyond their investment: customer introductions, investor referrals, social amplification, and reviews.
- Effortless Data Collection: Because the feedback collection is built directly into the post-investment flow, you do not need to lift a finger to gather this information. There are no surveys to send, no follow-up emails to craft, and no manual data entry required. The system works automatically for every investment.
Practical Use Cases
- Marketing Content Creation: Use investor quotes in ads, landing pages, social posts, and email campaigns. Authentic testimonials from real investors carry significant credibility. As a best practice, you may want to reach out to investors whose quotes you plan to use publicly to confirm their permission.
- Referral Program Activation: Investors who select "share about the raise" are prime candidates for your referral program. Follow up with these investors and provide them with referral links to amplify your reach.
- Business Development: Investors who can "connect to customers" represent warm introduction opportunities. Reach out personally to explore their network and potential partnerships.
- Future Funding Preparation: Build a list of investors who can "introduce to investors." When you are ready for your next round, these connections can open doors to new capital sources.
- Message Optimization: Analyze patterns in "why I invested" responses to understand what resonates most. Use these insights to refine your pitch and marketing messaging.
- Operational Support: Your investors may include professionals with skills you need. Reach out to explore if any can provide services, advice, or connections to resources like accountants, lawyers, or specialists.
If you're currently raising, you might already have new feedback collected! Log into your DealMaker dashboard, navigate to the Contacts page, and look for the new Testimonials section. Once you've got investor feedback, next you can identify advocates, follow up on introductions, utilize testimonials in your marketing, and ultimately maximize your investor community.
Amplify Your Raise:
Convert More Investors on Mobile
In a competitive fundraising landscape, every conversion matters. This new feature set helps ensure that interested investors can easily complete their investments, regardless of device, with a new UIUX optimized for conversion.
Mobile Optimization
TLDR: We released a comprehensive upgrade to the investor checkout experience, redesigned specifically for smartphones and tablets. Includes larger form fields, better spacing, clearer labels, and smoother navigation. A smoother mobile checkout means fewer drop-offs and more completed investments. Open your investment page on mobile and walk through DealMaker's checkout experience to see it live.
Why This Matters for Your Raise
Approximately 60% of investors complete their investments on mobile devices. This has been a consistent pattern across DealMaker raises for the past several years. With Mobile Optimization, your checkout experience is now purpose-built for the majority of your investor traffic, helping ensure that interested investors can easily become committed shareholders. Early impacts show:
- Conversion Rate Improvements: Early A/B testing data shows the mobile-optimized experience is performing ahead of the previous version.
- Enhanced Brand Perception: A polished, professional checkout experience reflects positively on your brand and the perceived quality of your offering and reinforces confidence in their investment decision.
- Intuitive Interface: Larger form fields, better spacing, and clearer visual hierarchy all work together to reduce the chance of input errors. This means a smoother path to completed investments, thus higher conversion.
What Your Investors Will Experience
Investors completing investments on mobile devices will encounter a notably smoother, more professional experience. The update includes larger form fields that are easier to tap, improved spacing between elements to prevent accidental selections, clearer labels positioned above each field for immediate understanding, smoother transitions and animations throughout the process, and an overall cleaner, more modern appearance.
The result is a checkout experience that feels as intuitive as shopping online. Investors see a clear path forward at every step, with information organized in a logical hierarchy that guides them through the process with confidence.
What Sections Have Been Enhanced
The mobile optimization applies across the entire checkout flow, including the initial sign-up form (email, name, and phone fields are larger and easier to complete), investment amount selection (clearer labeled format for entering investment amounts), contact information forms (individual, joint, corporation, and trust profiles are more user-friendly), regulatory compliance forms (income and net worth fields are larger and easier to fill), and document verification (streamlined document upload and verification process).
What These Features Mean for Your Raise
Together, January's updates create a more powerful fundraising experience. Mobile Optimization helps ensure that the 60% of investors using smartphones and tablets can easily complete their investments, while Investor Feedback transforms every completed investment into an opportunity for testimonials, referrals, and strategic connections. The best part? Both features are automatic & live now.
